We at Adora Handmade Chocolates have a vision to become the leading producers of high quality and unique handmade chocolates, confectionary and gelato.
By using vibrant and fresh ingredients, we aim to lead a radical shift in the expectations of the chocolate loving world.
It was a passion for chocolate that drove two sisters to create Adora Handmade Chocolates in 1993, part-time from home.
Winning numerous Gold and Silver awards and contracts, including supplying the Sydney Opera House, increased demand for their unique chocolates and forced them in 1997 to relocate to commercial premises.
In 2006, they opened a second retail store located within the Wentworth Connection in Sydney’s CBD. A third retail store located in Parramatta opened in 2011, and their Rose Bay store opened in 2012. After 5 years in Rosebay, the store closed and relocated to Newtown at the end of 2017.
Adora Handmade Chocolates has developed a reputation for truffles with vibrant, fresh flavours. Eschewing fancy moulds and decorations, Adora Handmade Chocolates followed their customers’ preference for a more natural look.
Their customers were clamouring for fresh cream chocolates without added preservatives or artificial flavours and that is exactly what they got and continue to receive. The highest standards are upheld and the fresh ingredients include Belgian Callebaut chocolate, cream cultured butter, raspberry, lime, passionfruit, mango, freshly brewed espresso coffee and wattleseed (a species of ‘bush tucker – native Australian food’) as well as the more traditional pralines, ganache and marzipans.
A large non-dairy selection is also produced and most chocolates are gluten free.
